Craftsmanship Overview
The Porche 911 is one of those all-time greats in the auto world. When it came to be in September 1964, it previewed a sleek teardrop shape that was heavily aerodynamics inspired. It placed the engine in the tail, and made it an air-cooled unit. It provided occupants with a well-equipped and comfortable two plus two passenger cabin. But most importantly, it cemented its place with petrolheads as a proper enthusiast’s car. In 1998, engines switched over to water cooling, but many other features remain to this day. The teardrop silhouette for example can still be seen.
Exterior and Interior
The exterior of this 2014 Porsche 911 Carrera is finished in Basalt Black Metallic, a deep metallic shade that accentuates the sculpted lines of the 991-generation 911. It rides on optional 20-inch Carrera Classic wheels, which complement the car’s timeless proportions while enhancing its sporty stance. Additional exterior details include clear glass taillights and Porsche Dynamic Light System headlights, contributing to a modern and distinctive look. Inside, the cabin features black partial leather seating and optional 14-way power sport seats with memory, offering excellent comfort and adjustability. The Premium Package Plus adds features such as heated and ventilated seats, Porsche Entry & Drive, and automatically dimming mirrors, while the BOSE surround sound system provides high-quality audio for everyday driving.
Engine
Power comes from a 3.4L naturally aspirated flat-six engine mounted behind the rear axle, delivering the characteristic sound and high-revving performance that Porsche enthusiasts appreciate. The engine is paired with a 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) dual-clutch transmission, which provides rapid and seamless gear changes whether driving in comfort or sport modes. Equipped with the Sport Chrono Package and Sport Exhaust System, the car offers enhanced throttle response, dynamic driving modes, and a more aggressive exhaust note. Combined with the 911’s rear-engine layout and finely tuned suspension, this Carrera delivers a balanced blend of everyday usability and unmistakable sports-car performance.
